Relocation off site? Wouldn't they get rid of managers then because they usually have a team of 20-25.
All managers have had a meeting today and were told to consolidate their things for a relocation into a smaller area. They are also required to narrow their teams down to only 10 people per manager. People will be sharing desks to save for costs so someone will work until 430 and they next batch will come in. They have until the end of the month to have their teams downsized.
Announce how he is saving shareholders money
CEO Michael Corbat is speaking at a conference in New York on 5/29. What does that have to do with Hagerstown?
It does not say that he is out of office
Site President is a figure head he's still going between here and another site. Real person in charge is Frank he is the one making the decisions on a given day! Pop goes your bubble...
Interesting that site president’s calendar says he out of office the whole day tomorrow. Is he even going to be at the townhall? If he won’t be there then I don’t see any lay offs happening.
Hence why I said stop bringing this b---s--- to work. Hard to focus on my work when people on my team won’t STFU about it.
Maybe O' wise one. However I didn't see people take their computer and phone with them when they moved spaces in bldg 2. The caravan of people will be interesting as they load their computer and phone and brave the harsh conditions of the walkway. Tomorrow we hopefully will have some real insight so people can stop making up what they think makes sense. If you are bothered by people being curious or complaining then focus on your work and not this site which is doing what it was designed for.
People are so stupid. Moving to building 1 and people and their computers will move together. That’s why old computers removed because their own computers are already setup with their systems. Less IT work. Duh. Other 2Q updates. No news on closing. Stop with the b--ching and whining. If you can’t take it then quit. But stop bringing this b---s--- to work. People are trying to stay focused on work.
Citi is not in the Berekley county wv chamber of commerce as a new member/ member. Most likely not relocating.
Regarding moving to building one... How does it make sense to remove towers, terminals, and phones only to move all that back if folks from building 2 are coming over? I know we were told it saves money, but I don't think that's the complete truth.
CEO will speak Wednesday May 29th that’s next week so I don’t think it’s related
https://www.citigroup.com/citi/news/2019/190508b.htm Ok this says the ceo will speak Wednesday morning do we k ow if other sites are having similar meetings?
Well said...finally someone that makes sense!!!
Truth of the matter is Citi's shares are in the toilet! The easiest way to create revenue is to cut jobs and reduce the labor force. The shareholder's only care about one thing and that's profit. It's no big secret wall street plays this numbers game all the time it just happens to be Citi's turn. So we get it, were all grown ups hear it just so happens it's our jobs on the line. WE AS EMPLOYEES EXPECT MORE FROM CITI THATS ALL...
I just found out today that they're gonna cut retail phone ops in half and get rid of all the slack-assess who haven't been able to bring their numbers up over the past year. That will make room for everyone left in 2 to consolidate; attrition will likely phase out the rest of the lower retail phone reps. Most of those people hate their jobs anyway so it's a soft blow on either side.
Our manager said they keep hearing that Citi is looking at a few prospective locations in the Hagerstown area...with smaller capacity!
Managers told some to change days off and come in. Guess it’s manager dependent. I know people on leave and they were told they aren’t supposed to come in while they are on leave.
They take computers off of unoccupied desks because it does save money.......that doesn't mean we are shutting down. They will move the reps pc's from building 2 to building 1 when we move everyone over.
I’d come in. Something is going to be announced. Better to hear it first hand.
Bottom line is we won't know until we know. The lease is a picture of building 2 on theloop.net site. I can't figure out if we were moving to one building why take computers when people leave?
If they stay it won’t be at current location.
talk To your manager, mine asked me if I could come in
Does anyone know that if we are normally off Wednesday’s and are not work from home if we have to come in for any of the meetings @ 1, 3, or 5? If not then that’s at least a good sign right? I mean, what if people are on vacations or on a leave of absense? I mean, the daycare is not even fully closing until the end of August. So, if the site is closing, maybe it won’t happen until the daycare is fully closed as well? That to me seems probable and would give us time to look for another job..
How do you know a lease was signed?
Is there any verifiable proof that either building was leased or listed? The listing posted a while ago wasn't clear on which building was posted.
We did sign a lease on Build 1 only.....show's how much "some" know..... ;)
So that the next person that rents the building has a working fan lol. Many places have to fix things before another buyer comes in.
Plus with Citi not signing a new lease on B2 or B1 Lease was up this year 2019!!! Wednesday we will elaborate more on this...
Why do you think they replaced the big exhaust fan just a few weeks ago in Cafe 1??? hmmmmm.....
The cafe thing is once again just another rumor
There is talk that the cafe in b1 is going to reopen and the b2 cafe is closing permanently. It must mean their planning to stay then ...???
I’ve heard no money was budgeted for JD for everyone. I’m guessing WFH for those who are able and a handful of JDs but just a guess. 3 more days and we will know.
Not so sure about all the work from home people being laid off. Too many do reporting, mid, quality and projects. I don’t think there would be sufficient coverage to staff these positions, Also the comment about credit in 2008. The agents being laid off were taken to town hall while the others who were not laid off went to the cafe. It was based off performance
So. My thoughts for Wednesday Townhalls. Work from home reps - laid off. Perhaps the higher up have enough respect to tell at home reps to their face instead of through email. Everyone else - moving to 1 building except maybe Layoffs to smaller departments. Core Credit and Core Fraud will stay, or at least I hope so.
They say they are removing monitors to save money and that other sites are doing it too.
Think that means Mercury is in retrograde
