Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

AIG could care less

Most companies don't rif 2 weeks before Christmas. AIG could care less. Ruining the lives of their employees in the name of profits says it all. 2019 won't be any better than this year. Maybe they should watch It's a Wonderful Life. The missing $ will never materialize and no one will bail them out this time either. This reminds me of March, 2009 all over again. Overpaying AIG executives while underpaying the remainder of their stressed out workforce isn't a formula for success.

A short but an accurate observation by @WuYNvaw-2prc . Felt it needed to be more visible.

Several lay offs in several units today and will occur until the end of the week. AIG isn't the caring company it promotes itself as.

I was laid off in December with another company years ago...not saying its right but, other companies do it as well.

In regard to Post ID: @Ww4Jmv8-1nis, lay offs this close to the Holidays are not that common. AIG has certainly known and had a plan in place for RIF's, and should have the dignity to wait until after the Holidays. They try to promote as a giving, caring company that is diversified and concerned about their employees and giving back to the community. There continues to be a lot of waste at the top and they penny pinch the workers. I can see it in 2019 but at the end of the year this close to the Holidays is really heartless and I don't think people should defend them on that.

First, layoffs around year end is common for budget reasons.
