The consensus seems to be that this new unlimited vacation is so that when employees leave the company, the company doesn't have to pay out any unused vacation time. Now I'm wondering about severance packages. Has that changed too? Anyone know? If it has changed or been reduced I don't think Mattel would announce this at the town hall meeting as it would cause mass panic throughout the company as everyone would fear they'd be laid off. Anyone know if the severance packages are going to be reduced or eliminated?

I doubt they would get rid of severance but realize it is to prevent them from getting sued not due to charity on their part.

No severance package equates to they got you to sign all the important documents already when they hired you. You have to admit this is some smart handy work as far as saving Corp money.
You have to read what you sign no surprises.
Maggie Liebert from the DIG department got let go with NO severance. But she wasn't laid off, she was fired.
