Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Who'd have thought

Looks like those who were already laid off by Thomson Reuters are the lucky ones. There hand might have been forced in leaving but all of them are better off either already in their new companies or looking than having stayed here and having to worry for the next two f---ing years if they are going to be one of the 3,200.

Ironic, isn't it?

Its been said soooo many times... its a sinking ship. If you stay on, thats your choice. Quit whining and get off. Cause thats what you are doing

TR and reshitative should be 5000 people each, with 3 offices each...

I worked in Eagan until recently. There were layoffs there every year around this time. Some years more, some years less. It was always hard to know how many since everything was so hush hush. It was only if you happened to know someone in a group with cuts that’d you’d know about it. But there were cuts every year since the merger with Reuter’s.

I work in the Carrollton office and I will never retire. I will make the corporation deal with me by laying me off and giving me a severance package.

I think the company is sinking ship...so being laid off and getting severance package is not so bad.

I don’t think that those who were iaid off and are still unemployed consider themselves to be lucky. That’s absurd.

Yes I was thinking the same thing! And I don't think for a second that people in Eagan are exempt from layoffs especially in 2019 and going forward. Just because they don't "anticipate" that people will need to be laid off doesn't mean that things won't change and suddenly they need to lay people off.
