Snapdragon 855 presented- is it a game-changer for smartphones?

In the light of the recent presentation of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 this article covers the matter of what changes and improvements it’s gonna bring to smartphones. Found it interesting, but got me wondering if these improvements are really gonna transform the smartphone market, and is the new processor really a game-changer or just an extension of something that we’ve seen before?

Yawn. Consumers don’t want to pay $1000 for this stuff. I sure as heck don’t want to put a 5G device anywhere near my cranium to do virtual reality. Good enough technology just fine. I will buy a new smartphone as soon as my current dies and that is going on five years.
