Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Hopefully court approves exec bonuses

The company needs strong leadership in these tough times. Without competent guidance from the top Sears may be in trouble.

@bsg They wouldn't make it to their first hour on the job. They'd quit. Could you imagine these people trying to do anything we do in the store? They're too used to sitting in their $5,000 office chair all day. It's amazing that these types of people aren't 500 lbs. because they just sit around all day, but that's only because they get free gym memberships as one of the very many benefits they receive on the job.

Everyone is so sensitive

OP is using satire. I guess the only way for most posters to figure that out is to use a sarcasm font.

LOL Welcome back cheerleader, I have halfheartedly missed your delusional nonsense. Sears MAY be in trouble? I got a very hearty laugh out of that, Sears has been in trouble since 1987

The only way we can continue our transformation and to deliver WOW member experiences is to ensure our high performing leadership is properly compensated.

We will be stronger on the other side of this with our exceptional leadership!

You are joking, right? Best laugh I have had in a long while.....how is insanity explained ... "keep doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result" ... the same executives in charge of this train wreck should be fired and a new group brought in. Even coach Q of the Blackhawks (NHL) was fired even after he won 3 Stanley cups... the team stagnated for a couple years and he's gone. But at Sears, you can fail for over a decade and still keep your job...

Things are too far gone now.....Sales results for holiday season not meeting expectations.....Sears still bleeding money....Its only a matter of time now before the whole mess closes down.

Well I think Sear/Kmart needs the actual store employees to run this shipwreck more than those 18 handpicked do nothing's that will get their bloated bonuses!!!

Without the workers in the stores to do all the unappreciated tasks that keep the stores tidy, put freight out, help customers, ring up sales etc, I think the titanic would be sinking a lot quicker than it is currently!!

Why not make those 18 cone to the stores and do some actual work and prove their knowledge of retail and show us how to increase sales and get more customers in

It may not be law that the common worker gets severance, but it wd certainly show that Eddie appreciates all the hard work all the employees have done over the years

Again though the little guy gets the blame for lack of sales when they are only following directions from these same do nothing's that will get the bonuses! Sad to say the least!

They got a great deal because they will get a fat bonus if Sears/Kmart survives or not

Eddie's lack of proper leadership is a big reason why Sezrs is in the mess it is now.

Their past performance, or lack thereof, is all the reason NOT to give them a bonus.

When a company files for bankruptcy, it is ALWAYS due to mismanagenent. It is ALWAYS the fault of the company's leadership. Maybe the company suddenly found itself short on cash, maybe the company didn't adapt to changes in the market quickly/adequately or at all, et cetera, et cetera. Doesn't matter, bankruptcy is always due to mismanagement and thusly those responsible for overseeing the operations of the company should not be rewarded.

The best-case scenario is to dismiss those responsible for the events leading up to bankruptcy, however, this is not likely to happen in Sears' case since those executives were all hand-picked by Eddie and Eddie is the principal shareholder. They will stay in their positions until the bitter end, which is not that far off.

Yes, Eddie's record of leadership success is exactly what's needed to lead Sears through these trying times!
