I've been particularly present at my local Walmart throughout this holliday season, and here's my report:
-
The side counters everywhere, all departments, are almost always blown out. I see maybe a handful of stockers in the whole place----and this is during peak hours.
-
Per usual, there are almost no cashier lanes open, and as much as 40% of the self-scans on the blink. Hello, during Christmas??
-
For such a robust, competitive economy (as our national leaders would have us believe), Walmart has not even attempted to lower their prices. Half the things I came for I ended up getting somewhere else.
-
They've placed armed COPS at both front entrances. Now, that doesn't speak of Walmart's failure on anything-----but this is where we are as a society, where in-store shopping is concerned.
All these things in tandem point directly to more and more people shopping on line.....and if Walmart keeps making that happen, who can blame them?
