Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

When will this finally end?

There has got to be an end to these constant layoffs at some point. How many people can General Electric get rid off before it stops being able to function properly? They can't just keep cutting and cutting without consequences.

So we might have job security once again in the future. I'm just not sure anybody will want it by then, since we'll be doing the work of five or six people for the pay of one, most likely.

Just wait until everyone hears officially how many office jobs are getting outsourced to Genpact. It sounds as if the entire Global Operations has been sold off. First outsourced then laid off/ moved to India appears to be the plan.

Your still too fat. When you take over a company that the French Government was supporting along with all their employees what do you expect? Sorry to say you GE sl--s in the states are the ones to get laid off. They can’t lay off the socialist pigs.

Ge does not give a dookie about consequences they are a heartless greedy cut throat company. I for one can say as I work at 273 and experience first hand the mess they created. They forced out the good operation leaders and so on. Then replaced them with clueless college grads who are wet behind the ears. They made the leap from managing McDonalds and Burger King. To run a manufacturing plant and make dumb changes that are counter productive. Now I am going to read a newspaper sit back and wait for my vacation from GE. There are thousands of jobs in the market. We’re you making GE money before GE? I was came here thinking retirement job. Well it’s not going to happen. So don’t think GE won’t close the plant and move it across seas because they will in a heartbeat. Enjoy the ride and stress because I’m enjoying the show and looking at all these Union d rates sweating it because they know they will be making $15-$20 an hour like a T Rate.

There is always going to be layoffs in a company this size. I have not heard of any major layoffs that have actually happened lately. But if you can't work under these conditions you should look for something else. Also there is over 8000 jobs posted on COS so check out something that you may be less concerned about being let go.

We are already at the point of dysfunction. I pity our customers, because we are more difficult to work with than ever!

But, to answer your original question: This will only end when there's no one left to cut.
