Hearing of some layoffs in various departments. Thursday’s have usually been the day. I’m going to keep quiet in my cube. Already cleared the personal stuff at the recommendation of the OP.

Good one from PA. Sums up your safety leader is just like his leader in Houston. Pointless and meaningless. We had and still have the same here in WV. That young wanna be safety leader come from Houston and pretty much got him run off from here back to Houston. Maybe because he never moved here with his family staying in Houston and flying back and forth, perhaps in over his head or he spent more time showing up in social media than doing any safety work. At least he is not here. Even worse now is another wanna be safety leader who has zero background in safety or safety education nor any leadership experience. Seen a pattern here between the Houston safety leader and his choices? Like what I had seen on another post where we would not miss a beat on safety if we cleaned house and started from scratch. Hey if this is the company way than I can be the new Mr Way. Well back to the field for now.
Wait, i thought are safety wuss good? We heard the speech from the safety guy in tunkhannock. He was comparing his pelts on the wall to our safety record. The more you get the better ur are. Sumthin like that. Besides, i don’t really need my hearin anyways. Good day.

First time poster. Don’t care cause I am either going to get laid off in January or start my new job with another operator. They let go the wrong two guys. Should have let go the safety leader and the other guy up here. What was the point in moving him up here. Maybe to show how what ineffective looks like or so doesn’t do drunk at the Christmas party like years past. Somethings never change except the right people doing the right things aren’t here

We are having additional layoffs on 1-17-19 and I seen there have been rumors of safety dept shakeup and “start from scratch”. Being talked about all over here in Morgantown. Too many incidents.

Hearing rumors of a near term major shakeup in the safety group, due to shifting layolties amongst the ranks and not meeting expectations. Can anyone confirm this?
Holding true to my original prediction. My source still says most all of the layoffs will be Jan 17th. HR getting things in order and there are some internal debates on whether packages should be offered. Some argue SWN owes it to them, others say we simply can’t afford it, especially with significant executive compensation owed. There may be a few middle management terminations prior to the end of year for accounting books, etc., but expect more corporate maneuvering, backstabbing and secret meetings going on now until d-day! 1-17-19. Bank on it.
