@yib Kmarts were almost entirely leased, AFAIK. They weren't into owning their own property like Sears used to be. So it's probably still a lease to the new tenant.

The Kahului Maui K-Mart was sold and now operating as a U-Haul operation.

The Westland, Micgigan Kmart closed last year and is now home to UHaul.. Lovely sight... Ugh

This location would have made a great Kroger or Hobby Lobby instead of a UHaul

Don't know if the purchased property or are leasing though

Also, the other 3 kmarts close by, garden city, Livonia and Plymouth still sit cold and vacant with the parking lots lit up brighter now than when there were shoppers
