No layoffs is naive; being a public company means we are back to the old EMC (and I guess Dell) quarterly cadence of making the numbers no matter what and the ideas of cutting your way to growth.

I doubt we’ll see any layoffs.

C’mon like any of this is a shock? You can only sit around a company for so long doing nothing. In MDC I am just waiting to get let go, it’s only a matter of time and honestly I can’t wait.

DELL folks are too inbred to think. Too many years of indoctrination

OK - here's some facts then.

Shareholder Vote 11th Dec

All hands has been called 12th Dec

Dell will be going Public 28th (Ticker - Dell) if the vote goes ahead.

This is all public info.

Layoffs. There has to be, so what. It's a big company. We have too many overlapping and competing staff and managers in some areas and not enough in others. We are selling a lot of amazing products but need to adapt with the way the market uses technology in our revenue and targeting models (as this impacts our customers and staff.)

Micheal Dell invested his money, he took the risk and he deserves the reward. We are along with that and hopefully the strategy is vastly adjusted and not just turning the crank again.

Dell employee relies on this site because the management are not transparent and their priority is almost always about saving their own asses by starting multiple projects and telling MD and the general population we are all doing well. We might as well not work and expect pink slips first week of Jan.

It's been all over the news for months. It just shows that people at Dell lives in a bubble and there is no communication to employees.

Its quite because they are going public again and want to get this done. They had to increase the offering because of Carl Icahn and may have to up it again because VMware had very strong earnings.

After that , will there be cost cutting and consolidation when they have to announce public earnings every 12 weeks . What do you think ?

I've heard nothing. It's been quiet. I'm sure plenty of people on this site will say it's coming, but it's quiet on the inside.
