Wall Street Believes Windstream, Frontier Will Go Bankrupt

Some in Wall Street have tried to ignore the problems, doubling down on these troubled telcos as good investments. But firms like MoffettNathanson had a notably different take in a research note to investors this week, which suggests that bankruptcy may not be too far off for both Windstream and Frontier.

Too bad TT couldn't get just 6 months severance pay, plus Cobra health insurance.

In other countries, CEO's that ruin a company can be put away in jail, or worse. In this country, they will win a seat in Congress. Thankfully The Internet remembers, and wherever he ends up after WIN, he will always be reminded how horrible a job when he was CEO of a company that at the time he took over, still wasn't overloaded with debt like it is now. Too bad they can't garnish his wages and the other executives until the company's debt is paid off.

Back in the real world.....

If I remember correctly his exit nets him nearly $13 million pretty much no matter what the reason is.

Even if its old, we're looking worse than when that was written.

If TT has all of his money tied up in WIN stock, wouldn't he want it to recover? You'd think he'd make a graceful exit so confidences in the company can increase resulting in a increase in stock price (letting him cash out). I suppose he doesnt think that recovery will happen or maybe the golden parachute gives more than all his recovered stocks?

Article dated: Wednesday Nov 29 2017 14:00 EST /// Do you even look at this stuff before making people nervous. Seriously irresponsible. If you are doing this as good intention to warn people, you missed.

2019 will possibly see their stock delisted if it continues the free-fall.

Company will start being carved up more - what valuable assets that are left will fetch the highest amounts - doubt any enterprise systems will be acquired as the other telcos are doing the same but better and cheaper....only a few real valuable assets the company still has - the executives and CEO will get dumped into the telecom wasteland and eventually the company will be acquired by another better managed telecom company for a bargain-basement price.

Such a shame this leadership couldn't spin the wheel and return the company to profitability, instead they went on an mind-boggling buying spree - if they didn't buy most of those companies that they did, they might be in better financial position. Just like Frontier took on way more debt when they acquired the VZ systems, WIN took on too much debt and couldn't recover.

Bankruptcy is the only way for this to 'end' for WIN - the leadership won't change their outdated way of thinking - and they won't resign to bring in new leadership to right the sinking ship. TT and his Zombies will get rewarded in bankruptcy since it is probably in their contracts they get a nice golden parachute.

WIN will get carved up, and sold to a company like Consolidated Communications in a blue-light special - maybe for a few hundred million, probably little more since they still have valuable fiber assets.

WIN is like Fairpoint was before they eventually were acquired for a steep discount.

Weird article that's a year old and mistakenly credits Windstream's sale off of its assets to Unity to Centrylink. Although it's abundantly clear that no one wants to touch Windstream's stock. I feel sorry for anyone who has left their company 401k match on Windstream stock because it's completely vanished in the past year.

Interesting comments on that link. Seems a lot of people think Win needs a new CcEO.
