Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Where is the CEO?

Where is the CEO in all of this? We hear from the COOs — a video here and a post there— but the CEO has been fairly absent in internal communications over the last few months. Also, it doesn’t feel like there is anyone leading the Legal Business and providing a unified sense of direction and vision. STM was great at communicating a vision and moving the Legal employees forward. To be honest, layoffs and restructuring were necessary after the split. The most frustrating thing, however, is that there is nobody communicating a vision and beating the drums to take people who are still on the TR boat forward. I wonder if things will clear up after Investor Day next week. I’m not getting any younger, I’m in my prime, and frankly, I’m not feeling like I should stick around any longer. Does anyone else feel like 2019 will be a lost year? Who is optimistic about our leadership? Please be serious and thoughtful in your comments. This will be helpful for people thinking about staying or leaving.

Yeah this is what TR loves: hiring 25-28 year old MBA grads without any business knowledge from a fancy school. They proceed to work 60-70 hours a week. They in turn make a fancy, no substance presentation to executives from a multi-billion dollar Corp how to run a company. TR is playing checkers

I'm not leaving willingly. Too much $$ in severance awaits me, based on years of service. It would be like leaving money on the table.

Does anyone know how many people have been fired since the first wave? Is there a target number of employees?

McKinsey being paid to tell TR "leaders" what they want to hear and give an excuse to fire people.

I highly doubt McKinsey has any clue about our customers and who amongst TR employees actually serve those customers.

This is chaos.

Optimism in leadership is dead. All the people at the top have no vision. Would leadership really need to utilize McKinsey so extensively if they knew what they were doing and ran the business efficiently? I think not. Plus all those leaders just bring along their incompetent friends up the ladder.
