@Wm36cb5-2ukp: so, what's the "real news" about HAMR/Mr. Ponytail?...HAMR is alive and well and ready to hit the market, in say, let me guess, 2 years from now (on Feb/30--LOL)???...and, Mr. Ponytail remains at the helm of R&D as he is not yet done driving Seagate into oblivion (you know, like Read-Rite, Seagate Research-Pittsburgh -- the cradle of HAMR) ???...STX stock to reach $200 in 2019 after weak competitors WD, Toshiba are HAMR'ed into extinction???...please enlighten us

"The funny thing is that a prior CEO was told by two VPs that HAMR wouldn't work."

More fake news.

That’s what happens to you at Seagate if you disagree with anyone above you openly.

The funny thing is that a prior CEO was told by two VPs that HAMR wouldn't work. The VPs were then canned and Mr. Ponytail was elevated. Guess the deception can't be maintained any longer.

"Just listen to last weeks pep talk when they canned Mark The Ponytail - the soon to be ex CTO.

Dave Mosley - the soon to be ex CEO - praised thanks one minute then complained the next on how they spent billions on HAMR and have nothing to show for it."

Fake news, get back to looking for work oh-already-laid-off-one.

I’m not sure what’s worse ponytail spewing BS about HAMR being ready or the CEO who Actually believed the nonsense with no real proof and told us just six months ago how much he 100% fully believed in It. We basically have executives the fall for the easiest con job I’ve ever seen And even start repeating it like a sacred chant

Billions spent on HAMR and they have nothing to show for it? And they are still pushing HAMR?

Like incoming CTO Morris can fix this mess. The only thing that clown has done in the last 10 years is grow a beard.

Expect a repeat of the 2009 January/March layoffs.

Most directors are completely useless as politicians. Get rid of them. You can replace each one with 2 senior managers and 3 engineers and still save tons of money and get more value.
