Bad decisions

Problem is that COP has let go those who have experience and know what they’re doing. Now, inexperienced people are running groups and they have no clue. Not their fault. Just bad decisions by higher ups.

I’ve had the honor of knowing many true professionals in their area of expertise here, as well as (by definition) great leaders and managers

Unfortunately, it’s brown nosing or “who you know” that gets you promoted, so the Peter Principle applies and the narcissistic incompetents have taken over the asylum. But they talk well and give good PowerPoint.

I sat in an issue raising session where our “Decision Chief” clearly was biased about the final decision and directed the session to what he wanted. The rest of the folks in the room with common sense raised issues he did not want to hear.

It’s the old garbage in equals garbage out.

Most of the members of the Leadership Forum and especially the ELT are sky-high arrogant and already know the answer. Other opinions or suggestions fall on deaf ears.

The result: a history of failure in major projects, exploration, and acquisitions/dispositions. To say nothing of Finance raising the dividend and swearing it was safe, then cutting it five weeks later.

I agree about the bad decisions by the higher ups, but it’s probably bad decisions due to half truths and outright lies by the inexperienced people who have no clue. Or maybe these inexperienced people do have a clue but are just unethical. Why should they care, it’s just a job and they get paid a decent paycheck every two weeks....
