Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Lay off In TaxCanada

4 people laid off in ax Canada 3 visible minorities and 1 whit person, that leaves 1 visible minority in the department - you could talk about Diversity all day but in the end minorities are the ones to go first because all of the Managers\Director\VP is white. When will organizations such as, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, McCarthy, CRA, Finance Canada, department of justice stop doing business with Thomson Reuters - this is not acceptable under any circumstances

Are you kidding me???? This is definitely not a race thing. If you actually paid attention, you'd know that over the last 3 years many many people have been let go and were of mixed races. I being one of them that was let go after almost 35 years of dedicated service and I'm white.... An amazing employee year after year and went above and beyond to help others as well as do work for other's in other departments who just didn't pull their weight. Alot of amazing people were let go... all for meeting their year end numbers. Don't you dare make this a race thing. It's a humanity thing. Thomson Reuters has completely lost their humanity. Best thing that ever happened to me. My life is stress free now and am so glad that it happened. Wasn't at the time, but today. I'm in a better place. I feel for those that were let go. I know in particular one person that was let go from the Toronto office should have been let go along time ago. But that's just me. So think before you try and pull the race card. Remember, I'm someone that was present and saw it all over the years.

Maybe it had something to do with your work performance or lack there of....not to do with your colour or race. You seem to be walking a double edge sword there stating "only one white person" sounds like you are pretty racist yourself.

You have this all wrong, in a department where over 85% of the employees are white, to layoff 3 visible minorities out of a total of 4 is unacceptable get the facts before you post a reply.

That’s because the white people are the minority in TO. Not that it matters either way. Just stating a fact. I’m sure they aren’t laying off by skin colour. We are all just a number

That doesn't seem to be the case in the MSP office. Mostly older white men were let go, and some older white women.
