Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Layoffs coming again

Noticed an increase in closed door meetings. Could signal yet another round of layoffs. Executive management is responsible for this mess. The best thing for Noble would be a 50% pay cut for the execs. We cant afford to lose people who actually work. It never ceases to amaze me how when oil prices are up, the execs take credit for the company doing well and when oil prices are down, the oil prices are to blame for the poor company performance. Too many fat cats on the BOD incapable of seeing the big picture. Bring in a new group of management at half or less of the current management pay and the results will come. If not, nothing will change

I hope you are wrong but you never know with this company. Letting more people go will only add larger workloads to those left. High work load and smaller work groups lead to burnout.

What closed door meetings are you referring to? Aren't all upper level meetings pretty closed door? We need a new board of directors. Right now it is made up of all the old CEOs of companies that Noble bought

Count how many people you thought were good performers and have left one way or another and then look around at what’s left and some of the new folks that have been brought in. Pretty frightening. Don’t think about the tenth floor as it will ruin your holiday and long weekend.

Yikes!

Noble will make a rash decision and cut a bunch of people. Get you bonus if they pay one this year and get out. A lot of companies doing great things out here.

All of the closed door meetings could be for discussions regarding merits, bonuses, and stock grants coming up. Pot should be big this year compared to last year's don't you think? Oh heck, just looked at oil and it's trading $53.37, only down $3.83 / bbl today.

I guess we all need to get back to work to save our jobs and the company!

Not looking good for NBL or a lot of independents. Hope your guys have a sound strategy in place that works when oil prices are low. Will nat gas possibly save the exec team from any more departures? You must have had a bunch of them given how many left and how many are still there.
