Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Is sears/Kmart putting on a feast Thursday Friday for employees working?

Or is it not in the budget this year because it may take some money out of that $10million dollar bonuses for their top executives?

We’ve always been provided a meal if we are working either day just wondering if anyone has heard if we will be getting our last holiday dinner this year?

Eddie was so generous on on Thanksgiving in 2012. We got one 10 pound Turkey to feed 30 people and some bland other stuff. Most employees brought in stuff to make it a potluck. He saved us from so much expense that I was so proud of him that I creamed my jeans. We were winning for him for him making his delusions more money.

Last year our manager used most of the money to buy his own groceries. He used the p-card to buy his thanksgiving food for his extended family who was coming into town and then gave us a vegtable platter --one platter-- cheese and crackers, peanuts (from the store shelf) and pop.

He got busted when one of our employees saw him in the store buying all the stuff for thankgiving and use the company card but only brought the platters to us. No one said anything to him and I can't wait to see what we get this year.

I'm not interested in eating or sitting in our depressing break room for an extended amount of time. I just want to put in my time and go home

Doughnuts and coffee for bkfst and perhaps pizza for lunch is what our store did on Black Friday in recent years....On Thanksgiving night, it was assumed everyone ate dinner before coming to work so no food provided that night.

Friday they're going all out. Hot dogs and water baby! Our store has a $900 budget to spend on food for employees throughout the holidays.

I don't know about other stores but our Thanksgiving "feast" wasnt really a "feast". Just some chips, cookies, pop. Oh, there were cupcakes and a sandwich platter but those were "somehow" completely gone before most of us were able to get back there to eat. It was funny when the store manager asked me why I was walking through the door with some McDonald's last Thanksgiving. I told him that I came prepared because there would be nothing left to eat by the time I got back there.
