This is not the Sears Appreciation form for www.corportateappreciation.com. The whole point of this site, and this forum is to discuss layoffs, which is a very visceral and distressing subject. People are going to be angry. People are going to be fearful. Layoffs are one of the most stressful events we go through in our lifetimes, up there with death of a loved one.
What did you expect a forum like this would be like?!
What you see here (aside from those delusional Kmart apologists) is expressions of true anger and senses of betrayal. Many people on this site have given years, if not lifetimes of their dedication and hard work, only to realize now that they are just numbers in a ledger, and an inconvenience. They are trying to make sense of the cognitive dissonance, understand the sense of betrayal from their employer.
Let people be angry. Let people be upset. This is the forum for it. If Sears did not want this kind of publicity, they should have managed themselves better and treated their employees a hell of a lot better than they have. This is Sears' comeuppance, and it is not even close to what upper management deserves.
Do not shame those who are going through a terrible life event.
