Maybe Eddie will pull something out of his a-- last minute, like he did before the deadline a couple weeks ago. Then again, it’s still looking grim

@ijzx well Eddie's problem now is that previously he was dealing with parties primarily motivated by maximizing returns. Now he's dealing with a lot of government entities who really don't give a sh--, and are just stop wasting our time and pay up f---heads.

Eddie's secondary bids are vastly inferior to what the liquidation firms have on the table as far as creditor recovery is concerned.

Many on the website with a brain cell have seen the writing on the wall for years. You have been warned about everything that is happening. Some have chose to bury their heads in the sand or believe what low level managers, who have no clue, would tell them. No one could predict the exact date, but it is now apparent to the intellectually inept that Sears has been insolvent for a very long time and could have filed bankruptcy at any point in the past 3 or 4 years. If they had filed then, they would have had a much greater chance of becoming a viable retailer, as their assets were far greater. Instead they received money from asset sales and loans from ESL and co. without changing or investing significantly in the business practices. It is now so far past the tipping point that the creditors will liquidate it, just to spite ESL and company. If you are going to lose all of your money on a defaulted loan, it might make you feel better if the person or person(s) responsible feel at least some financial pain along with you.

Well yes, Eddie is free to bid on unbought washing machines and lawn mowers just like everyone else. There will be tons of bidders in Chapter 7.

Here's the deal. The creditors, not just Sears, also have to qualify the bid. Eddie's bid is way short on cash compared to what the other bidders have to offer. Besides the banks, various taxing authorities who are pretty p-ss-d off at Eddie for not returning their letters and calls for months also have to agree, and there's various other matters like Eddie trying to hide insurance money and Kenmore/Craftsman/Diehard money in Bermuda that's going to come under control of the bankruptcy trustee very soon. Eddie's been a very very bad boy and everyone is fed up to the gills. His backers, who are getting up to speed on this because Eddie hasn't been keeping them very well informed of these other skeletons are getting cold feet, and it doesn't look good for the go forward plan at all with the 400+ stores even if he throws away the no sue clause no one was ever going to accept, because the parties are very very far apart and just getting further. Eddie's history as a bad actor just bites him in the a-- again and again.

ZeroHedge is an interesting site. The comments section is pretty no holds barred. That said it is mostly "Doom p--n" and they are usually wrong. FWIW. This is just a rehash of the Bloomberg article.

"Reported Friday but no worries cause transformation is on the way."

Good of you to repeat exactly what someone else just said below you. And yes, the transformation is underway...from retail corporation to non-existing former retail corporation.

The transformation from money losing business into real estate unburdened by pensions or workers continues unabated.
