Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Windstream employee raises in 2019 ??

It has been literally years since the bulk of Windstream employees have received a pay adjustment that at least keeps pace with inflation. What is the plan for 2019? Another 22% increase for the chosen few executives and 0% for all others?

There is no doubt that TT lacks the guts and integrity to provide the thousands of employees desperately needing pay increases an honest answer. I am wondering if there are any other members of the leadership that do have integrity and whom will inform the employees of the 2019 plan.

This is definitely a company that you would want a union membership before you accept a field position. They are planning on staggering the non union workers hours so that you can only get forty a week. The techs will have job start times anywhere from 600am to 8pm for TT and LL sdwan junk. That won’t last either once they’ve churned their EarthLink customers. It’s hard to believe that a union is a better alternative than the TT/LL/UNITY show...

25+ years, last several under TT have been terrible, no raises for 3 years, bonus still in place for the upper managers. 401 match is in company stock, last several years you could not dump it fast enough, you still lost money, so the match is not the 4% they say since you lose. Every year they take, use to have 1.5 times your salary in company life insurance, then it dropped to 1, then next year it went to current .5 your pay. No training, what training is mostly on line with videos, can't ask questions. Layoff have been almost quarterly for the last several years, now they try to hide it. TT hides a lot, instead of taking charge and leading, he will disappear and hide when bad news comes out. Answer to everything is now to outsource. IT help desk is in India now and it takes hours or several call for a simple fix. I love what I do, but the fear of layoffs are hurting the bottom line. Seeing managers get bonuses while everyone else gets nothing put managers against workers. Saddest part of the whole thing is that the workers always step up to what is asked and then they are the first to go, like it is our fault. Be nice to see some managers, VP's directors get the axe for once. A once great company has had it best days years ago. TT has made the old CEO Gardner look like a genius. Most of us have lost all faith in management.

Still no word from management whether there will be any raises in 2019. It would be nice to have an incentive at Windstream - other than to look for another employer!

Ga probably would have voted in the CWA had they not done a piss poor job of informing us what all they were going to actually try and do for us. Not what they could maybe sorta kinda do for us.

"It's not just Georgia techs........the other non-bargaining states got it as well. All techs did not get 8%. If 1.5 % put a tech at top pay, the tech got 1.5%. The techs already on top pay, got no raise. So, I wouldn't expect an 8% raise every January if I were you. You've been misled."

So let me get this straight.....no raise for top out, just those climbing the ladder. NICE.

State I'm in, which is CWA, has right at an 8% increase each year in the progression scale. Then almost a 3% raise each year for top out.

So looks like my state still wins out, when you add that we have someone to REPRESENT US! Good luck dealing with managers and HR when things aren't right and going against you. Way to make us proud, GA!

“I'd like to propose that someone actually ask Tony this question in a public WS forum”

Someone did ask him in a town hall meeting. His response was that raises as we have known them are a thing of the past and basically you will need to be promoted to get one.

pay raises at Windstream? HA! The only way to get a raise in pay is to go find a different job

It's always been like this at Windstream. Executives will always get millions while the workers grinding in the trenches get nothing. Windstream is a company that doesn't care, it's as simple as that. There will never be change until you yourself make it happen. Why do past employees always get down voted when commenting? You people just need to wake up and realize there are better companies out there. Stop being okay with being treated like c-ap, do something about it. Everyone has the ability to control their own outcome.

Day Two - TT's cup size is shrinking daily

I have not seen anything on STREAM indicating the any workers received an 8% increase. Please post this on STREAM if true as this platform is pushed to be the all informative platform for all Windstream employees.

Perhaps this knowledge will motivate the other 98% of Windstream workers to speak Perhaps consider unionizing since this seemed to be the main motivational factor involved - again if true.

I don't understand why this is not feasible when we all read over and over on stream that 2018 was a great year and 2019 will be even greater. Is it just more lying from the top?

@WXIK2XN-eni

Why would you be on this forum if you left Windstream months ago? Do you visit this site every day?

You are likely still working for TT and trying to nullify the existing employee's complaints. Employees that simply seek change within Windstream management. Employees that simply want honesty from the top so they can plan their futures.

Prove me wrong - provide name, position held and new company that you joined. Since you supposedly do not work for Windstream any longer there should be no fear of reprisal. Otherwise, will chalk this up as just another underling attempting to wipe TT's behind for him.

Day One

People should reply on this question EVERY DAY so that it stays on the active list. Perhaps this will irritate Leadership and the Board of Directors enough that they at the very least provide an answer to the employees so they know what the future holds if they contemplate sticking with Windstream as an employer.

Last time this was asked on Stream PR**K Tony's response was "Windstream is not a jail". A pathetic, juvenile and heartless response.
