Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox remaking itself

Will this do us any good in the end, though?

As they start 2019, Norwalk-based Xerox and Stamford’s Pitney Bowes continue to remake themselves by relying less on old-line technologies and shifting their focus to digital services.

Unfortunately the investor disruption could not have come at a worse time. Competition has made inroads and employees are defecting and being let go in response. In terms of profiting off of digital services, the core SaaS technology is lacking and does not seem to target what clients want. Further when customers seek SaaS or to transform, Xerox is almost never considered. It’s sometimes hard to accept this if you’ve been at Xerox for any period of time. The pressure is on sales people to create the demand (push), develop and close the deal. Lately, it’s also included implementing and collecting past dues, but I digress. Xerox has ended so many promising investments in digital services that we don’t have the room here to explore. The most repeated though is its adoption internally of sharepoint versus its own solutions. Thanks for allowing me to share my opinion above.
