All companies and businesses change to maintain profitability. Why should Walmart be different? Do they want to end up like Sears, Kmart or any of the other retailers of the past? Of course not! And alllll employers cut hours and benefits from time to time even hospitals and other social service agencies. I’m 100% confident that if you show up to your Walmart jobs on time every day, do a good job and stop all this complaining you will have a positive experience. It’s not necessarily a life long career for everybody but you if you have the drive and ambition to make it one, you certainly can. You can, at the very least, take your experience and qualifications to another company at any time you wish! Pretty much everyone I know- no matter where they work- hates their jobs sometimes. So s--- it up buttercups!

Yes Walmart is like any other job. Your store manager has capability to make it miserable or great. For several years we had a store manager who treated us well and fair. We all did our best to make her look good. Then came Hitlerina. She got her rocks off by ‘keeping people on their toes’ . Constantly changing work hours and responsibilities making it impossible to plan ahead. Hide and seek was one of her favorite store games, where she hid misplaced merchandise in your department and if you did n’t find it all by shift end she ripped you a new one. She stripped the dignity from our jobs. All of the sudden people were calling off sick, doing a cruddy job and quitting. I was lucky enough to transfer to another store.
Count your blessings if you have a good store manager.
