Anyone else having a hard finding people, students willing to work rush part-time for minimum wage?

It is incredibly hard to get anyone to work for minimum wage. Most jobs start out at atleast $8-$9 here, so no one is wanting to work for $7.25. It’s almost embarrassing to even ask people to work for such a low amount, especially since the job demands them to learn so much in a few days and they constantly have customers screaming in their faces because they don’t know what they’re talking about. Atleast this is true for my store. Follett really should consider raising the pay if they want anyone to work for them.
Major challenge in a fiercely competitive marketplace.., Amazon, Target and Wal-Mart have been raising their entry-level hourly pay for workers since 2016 (Currently $11-$15/hour).
If applicants are eager to apply for a temporary/part time position at minimum wages, you can bet they will be motivated to make up the difference through theft.
you get what you pay for fool. Why are you still working for such a company and trying to do their dirty work for them- signed, former laid off fulltime employee
I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to hire part-time temporary employees - especially in regressive states like Texas where minimum wage is only $7.25 when most states are $10 - $16.
