17B in sales is meaningless if there is not enough profit to cover the costs involved in making those sales. Question is how much of that 17B is big ticket items that will never get delivered. Just take a look at all the stores that start their day in the red.
If Eddie did bid it would have been out by now because it would be big news as sears is save, but I'm assuming that Eddie didn't bid and that's why no one is releasing any info right now. There could be a press announcing the end of Sears
CNBC just reported the 4 pm deadline has passed with nothing happening. Status is unknown.
The docket for the bankruptcy proceeding is the first place official word will be released (or not) and it does not publish in real time. In fact, it could be Monday before we know. Someone will probably issue a press release first and that is how the news could break.
While your McDonalds reference is mildly amusing - I would not call $17Bn in sales "very minor transactions. It may not be "the good old days"....but it is still a BIG number....

You actually believe someone in here has inside connections? That's funny, the only connection any of these id--ts could get you is an upgrade from a medium to a large fry at McDonalds. Why no store list until today? The call was at 3pm yesterday to announce the additional closings. Nobody had any real info prior to that or until today. SHC should end in chapter 7 total liquidation there's nothing worth saving. Very poor leadership through out the company. The merchandising and buying teams are all id--ts, Regional/DGM all pushing 90s style retailing. It didn't work. Time to let the competent competitors take care of the very minor transactions Sears and Kmart were dealing with.
