Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Will we know today for sure?

Is today the day we finally find out once and for all what's going to happen to us?

No one said anything about cash being offered

$4.6 billion? That was not the amount of cash offered in his bid.

Pick a number. Something between $0 and $1. You might win something if you can guess the amount of actual cash included in his offer... without going over.

All Eddie would have done with total control was run it into the ground and lose money at an even more egregious rate

And why is Eddie waiting to make any comments if he really cared about the 68,000 employees

I went into my sears store yesterday afternoon not an employee or customer in sight

There were no great after Christmas sales going on and it didn’t look like toys sold very well either

Pull the plug and end the uncertainty!

I suspect zero additional bids will come in and the remaining "500" stores will be sold piecemeal thru liquidation process - if fast eddie is or was bidding 4.6 bill now, why didn't he do it months or years ago and take company private - 😕

There's another layoff scheduled for January 15th, according to some security guards at HQ.

Maybe, but probably not. Bids are due, and if there is one or more they have to be analyzed. these are lawyers, nothing happens in one day.

Maybe. But it's more likely to drag on. That seems to be how it is with both the court system and Sears.

I used to like going to sears. Always hated kmart. Sorry to everyone thats going to be inpacted, either soon, or at some point in the future (there is no chance for sears).

Sears got outcompeted with an easier experience, cheaper, and better stuff at Amazon. And Costco. Sear’s Product quality started going down. Then the stores became zombies with barely any employees in them, and those that were there didnt know anything or care. Plus the stores were ugly and messy.
