Attorneys are reportedly finalizing a formal bid from Edward Lampert and some other investors to rescue Sears and Kmart. Financing was still incomplete but was likely to be arranged before the 4pm bid deadline. The legal team will likely file the plan approximately five minutes before deadline because it would be public.
