Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Lawyer Blog - IBM Age Discrimination.

"However, a spokesman for IBM claims that the layoffs over the years have nothing to do with age, but rather an attempt to acquire an updated skill set, which is not illegal. He goes on to say that since 2010, IBM’s overall employee age profile has changed very little."

Which is why I was sent to India to train two teams that were RA'd, including my replacement. Rather than retrain existing staff, let's go to India and train new freshers that have zippo skills.

Nonsense. As other posters have said, they wouldn't hide the data if they weren't afraid of a lawsuit.

@ifx got that right. If it's not bs, then why not release the data? The they weren't doing everything possible to avoid WARN thresholds, they would. Since they are, they must have something to hide.

BS is correct. Easy to make the statement but IBM will not provide demographic details of their workforce, layoffs or breakdown by geo. It is an FTE shell game they play to avoid legal action where possible.
