Seagate future

Demand for the products declining rapidly on slowing economic growth. Half of the employees should be laid off to survive. That means 50% lay off. Dothill should be eliminated. I believe it will be March.

I heard that severance policy is actively being reviewed now that the CIO has taken on the additional new corporate “hatchet man” role.

It is more expensive to keep them. More likely is to change severance policy to match IBM of 4 weeks severance max.

It is a huge financial impact to layoff 50% employees with severance. Don't think management will do that huge a layoff
