Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

DC license?

How bad is it that we lost the DC license to a Spinmaster? Is this a surprise or were we expecting this? How do we fill the revenue hole?

Watch and see what SM does with the license. They are putting out a far superior product nowadays.

Only the recent DC movies are worth to go watch in theatres like Wonder Woman. JL and Aquaman, all the previous ones are go to sleep movies. But all of them have something in common, they don’t move products! Losing it is more of perceived value to the public rather than real revenue generators

Is losing those action figures really that terrible? The DC movies are mostly awful and the toys don't move. Let Spin Master toil with that junk! Mattel can spend their resources on reviving brands with no royalty payments, or working on licenses that kids actually want!

Don't worry everyone, I hear there's a Barbie movie coming someday that's going to totally save Mattel.

Mattel has lost Disney Princesses, Cars, Monster Trucks and now DC. Mattel isn't even in the game anymore. So sad. I remember when Jill was CEO, there was a lot of optimism but I've not seen any since then. The only WONDER I am seeing is a lot of people WONDERING what is happening. I also say that Mattel just lost GW. it's over.

It's not good, because Wonder Woman and DC Super Girls has it factor with the preteen girl crowd than Barbie.
