Just think about what IBM sellers must promise customers. They can't promise to be the best or the most cutting-edge or the least expensive. All they can do is promise the full faith and credit of the 100-plus year IBM institution - safe and secure, like an old-time bank vault. And just think about what happens when they only thing IBM has left to promise turns out to be a lie.
The Board of Directors has watched IBM collapse for years but they keep propping up the management that destroyed their company. Whatever they're thinking it has nothing to do with customers, employees or the long-term prospects of the company itself. The death of IBM will be a tragedy that didn't have to happen.
Amazing. The US Government and Corporate world need to get their ---- together. On another note, this certainly should be a wake-up call for any company considering to use IBM for their cloud needs. As big as IBM is, not to have their security "nailed down" is a crime. I smell potential law suits heading their way on this breech. A major overhaul needs to happen here soon. Wallstreet. Forget the numbers, forget the dividends and take a deep look at what's going on! There's been so much turmoil, churning and burning at IBM; organizations will not be buying what they're selling!
