The stock is now dipping up and down around $11 and shows no sign of turning around. As a former employee and stockholder, it is very sad to realize that Mattel is doomed. The nail in the coffin will be when the Q4 numbers come out next quarter. Then it will be a matter of winding up the company and filing for BK in Q2. There's no way to avoid it. The only option that is even possible at this late date is selling off pieces of the company one by one to in order to avoid BK. Mattel could sell FP or AG and pay its debts for another couple of years but that would not solve its endemic problems of overpaid leadership, lack of innovation and inability to build franchises. It is a dinosaur on life support and no short-term infusion of cash will prevent its looming extinction. I wish things were different for my friends and past colleagues from our NYC office and some in ES and I hate to see them go down with the ship. I also hate to see my stock options become worthless. I should have done what the CFO did and cashed in when I could.

Margo JR. when you are cashing out at this level he must on the short list to leave after Jan 1. Bad choice again for Mattel. A washed up CFO with a disaster track record. They really have a tough time finding the right talent.
That’s the only saving grace of Mattel. Their willingness ( even if it’s just for the publicity alla the sect of publicity that believes shock for relevancy is a marketing plan) to make inclusive toys despite sales risks is commendable. For a child grappling with their non normative s-xuality, this can be life affirming to see themselves represented on the shelves of Walmart in Poekeepsie. It’s also fun to aggravate hillbillies with progressive products and find out who I want nothing to do with it.
Also I used to make my two Kens sleep on the plastic bed together in my Barbie dream house. I should sue, but I think I signed something that Mattel’s owns all my thoughts and ideas...
There’s no saving the company.
There’s nothing in the line that will pull it out of the tail spin. You can say the words headwinds all you want, the street doesn’t buy the bs anymore.
There’s no miracle on continental blvd happening this year. Pack your bags and polish up your resumes. And hope that there’s still room at Moose. Hahaha.
Buy more stock while it's low. It's a bargain.
