Wow CVE. You made the top 10 of a global list.

Way to go!

We’re back to the old Cenovus days where the EVP’s don’t want anyone working for them who isn’t at least a VP. History repeats itself.

So wondering if we can look forward to another February round of layoffs. I’m guessing CEO’s no more layoffs joke of a comment is just out the window now so I wonder if he just keeps going? More layoffs followed by more VPs. Do you remember that bit? When you stood up and said you didn’t foresee anymore layoffs? Your staff do and now your credibility is gone. Maybe while you and the rest of the CLT are sitting in your vacation mansions at your lakes and the islands you can give a thought for your employees and how to start rebuilding CVE culture. You can’t be liking your last top ten award.

I've never been at a company where HR is so deeply despised (and it seems to be commonly held feelings among co-workers), they seem to be big part if the problems. I somehow can't think this is normal, or is it?

The child with markers comment gots to the heart of the problem with Cenovus, The every day employee is looked down upon by managers as children who can not be trusted.

Well we have to blame somebody and it sure as hell can’t be my fault.

You can’t really blame HR. If you leave the child unattended and give them markers, you can’t be mad when they draw on the walls.

Is sure going to be hard to attract good talent with such a bad rep. I'm sure a survey can fix that.

I’m not one of your typical angry posters but HR is meant to manage people resources right? Well based on the fact the company was rated in top ten worst places to work and I bet if a survey were done now it would be rock bottom, are they being held accountable for our wrecked culture and poor morale and inability to fix it? I mean come on they have numerous overpaid senior specialists, specialists, directors, mgrs etc. And none of them can come up with any ideas? Alex what good is HR doing for you right now or for the past few years?

Something CVE should be proud of!!

CVE is well on its way off that terrible list. ALPO's yes men have already started posted glowing reports on Glassdoor. That is easier than actually fixing the company.

Here’s an interesting question for you all. Does being rated as one of the worst companies to work at impact HR bonuses and especially the VP of HR. Remember she came from Talisman where the culture there went steadily downhill until it was bought by Repsol. Think about that, does she get a bigger bonus for getting people to leave without packages or a smaller one for a morale that is bottom of the barrel. Does it impact any mgmt salaries? It should if the board is even paying attention but they’re all so old it’ll most of their time is spent trying to get out of bed in the morning.

I just had the best laugh of an entire week reading that review on Glassdoor. That’s awesome it could only have been written by a CVE VP or HR. They don’t even know how to be subtle when posting fake self promoting reviews. I mean that’s just funny. And don’t worry about all the new VPs we laid enough people off the other week so we could afford them. If only these guys even knew how to be embarrassed, I’m embarrassed for them.

The only way to fix this mess is order HR and all the yes men to start posting glowing reviews about CVE , then the ratings go up and the problem is fixed right? Management is not concerned with people, just the numbers and optics

Someone is paying attention. The latest post on the review site is a lame attempt to bring ratings up.

The company wide surveys are pointless. They used to release the findings when times and morale were good but the last few they have kept to themselves. Followed by disregard on the findings. Not sure if they think one day the results will magically flip Without any change. Such a waste of time and money.

Considering how much pull and power HR has at this company, I certainly hope they are paying attention!!! I also hope they accounted for 20-30% attrition post bonus time, or they are going to struggle just keep this operation going! For those that will reply that there aren't any opportunities out there, you are wrong! There are plenty of opportunities out there for proven, top tier professionals.

Well considering how much AlPo seems to enjoy the spotlight and media face time, I can't wait to see how he addresses this. If he doesn't, the sound of silence will speak VOLUMES!

Nice job Bangs, but don’t take all the credit - your leadership team all did their part too. Maybe get a new org health survey ready and see how you’ve all destroyed any and all chance of ever fixing this company. Two more months and we get our bonuses - it’s just about the pay (right AlPo?)

Whether they care about their people or not DAMN that’s embarrassing. To be posted on LinkedIn where so many professionals are on the site everyday. The one lady is right it’s a recruiters dream and easy picking.

Congrats CVE, this confirms what people who work there or have worked there already know. The CLT, SVPs, VPs, Principals and Directors collect fat bonuses and are only interested in self-preservation.

It's no accident that CVE and most of its leaders are contrary to almost every LinkedIn article discussing successful companies, good leadership and a happy engaged workforce.

The sooner you get it through your heads the better off you’ll be. They don’t care about people or how you feel. Don’t like it move on be happy you have a cheque.

The bottom 5 companies all seem to sound the same. Quite the turnaround in the staff's view of the company within the last half decade.

To be clear that list is world wide. If that’s not a wake up call to the leadership what possibly could be?? Their denial knows no bounds.

That’s embarrassing there CLT. Love to see what HR tries to spin on this one.
