Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The full story behind xmm8160

This modem was never "pulled in". There has been massive slippage and incompetence. Both 8060 & 8160 were supposed to be the same design but on different process nodes. 8060 on Intel 14nm and 8160 on TSMC 7 nm. Both were suppose to be tapped out last summer. Things are so bad they forgot to write the RTL for the transmit side. Nope they are running like 10 b---s--- tests instead of the thousands needed for tape out. Everybody is expecting the chip to come back DOA. tape out going through to get yearly bonus.

They usually don't have a solid signoff of the head count before interviews. Totally normal for them to do this, they did thismto all of the new hires opin our group...

50/50 chance they will actually get the headcount signed off.

Totally normal, but unprofessional.

Engineers at Mediatek will be overjoyed to hear that 8060 is unproductizable.

At least Apple will have a fallback option in terms of Mediatek if 8160 turns out to be unproductizable as well.

Got an interview with iCDG... it's so slower process and hiring manager didn't respond well. 3 rounds interview... After almost 2 months they told me that I got a position but HR/Manager didn't come back. Now it's 3rd month... Is it a fake interview?

I told them will look for other direction/options but even no response regarding my message.

Not sure Intel hiring procedure is just like this or some trouble inside to get a head count.

Of course, didn't get any explanation from them.

But so disappointed how they handling to acquire talent people.
