Don’t get your hopes up- getting a raise at DXC is next to impossible

Have been with DXC (former CSC) for 5 years. I have never received a single raise. In fact, I didn’t get any maternity leave either and was denied short-term disability. I used to have my cell phone bill paid for and now that is gone. I have asked for a better computer for years to accommodate the high capacity projects that I do and I have not seen a single thing. I was approved for a raise a few years back and even was told by my Manager that it was 99% approved. Again, it never went through. I expect nothing as far as raises or any type of compensation for that matter. Remote work, flexibility and unlimited vacation, as well as a great boss (who has not seen a raise either) have kept me there.

My experiences on this matter are nearly the same. Good post @P6y4ZfL-72rrq

We in North America get less and less pay each year.

  1. Take away paying for Internet

Yes everyone has it these days, but maybe not at the speeds required to support VPN access.

  1. Take away paying for phone service

You can't use Skype for everything either

  1. They take away accrued vacation time.

Yes we "officially" get unlimited vacation, but its up to your manager. So that doesn't happen

  1. They increase our Health Insurance costs every year

  2. They don't pay for any office supplies,, paper for writing or printing

  3. We get c-ap for computers so we end up using our own. We have to backup own own computers because the company doesn't supply software or Cloud space to save everything. OnceDrive doesn't support Windows 10 file name standards so you can't backup to One Drive either.

  4. Cost of living food, rent, taxes go up every year and we get nothing

  5. The CEO doesn't believe in merit or bonus to the employee's, but the CEO and the NEO's get $50,000 raises, bonus and stock options.

9,. You never know if u have a job week to week. With all the WFR's going on

  1. You work longer hours because there is not enough people who know anything

  2. The lower cost people , don't take ownership so nothing ever gets done.

Why I am still here:

5+ years to retirement

Work from home

Jobs aren't easy to find in my local area where I wont have to travel or be on call

I used to enjoy my job, not anymore. I work cause I have bills to pay and that's it.

If you are working at DXC and you still have “hopes” , count yourself lucky or an extreme anomaly

I have not seen any true professional recognition or competence from DXC management with regards to employee recognition ( merit or even cost of living ) compensation in the last 10 years . I hope DXC and ultimately the client , knows what you get when you pay cheaply. More so , we as individuals should be aware of who we are employed to . It’s mind boggling . I’ll never refer any of my friends or family to DXC as a potential employer . That being said , current and future clients should seriously take note as to the reasoning and ask if it’s worth it to engage their business while being affiliated with such an organization ... what goes around comes around . Be wise on any decision you make . You are the one that needs to pay your bills . At this point , You owe DXC nothing more than the services you agreed to be employed by .

It happens when your manager does not like you personally. I experienced in DXC , there were guys who never got any promotion even after 10 years in CSC/DXC, although they were billable resources for the all time they worked with CSC/DXC and their performance was outstanding according to the clients they worked for. But at the same time , there were examples of getting promotions/role change on a regular interval who could please their managers by any means. Pathetic and suffocating - DXC in India.
