Don't work on Thanksgiving

All Sears and Kmart employees should boycott and walk out. What are they going to do, fire you? They are going to fire 50 percent of the sears/kmart employees after black friday and this is a FACT, not fake news. You NOT getting any severance, and the company doesn't give a rats a-- about you. They want to squeeze every last penny out of the company and leave it like dust in the desert. Go apply for a new retail or other job before companies stop hiring for for the holidays. You won't find any retail jobs in Jan & Feb when all the sears/kmarts are gone. Eddie will walk away richer, and you'll be begging on the street corner! This is REAL NEWS and it hurts!

This board has become like Trump just repeat lies (like 50% will be fired after black friday) and we're all suppose to believe it.

You can absolutely be fired for cause.

Being fired for cause means you can't get unemployment.

You could be fired for cause amongst hundreds of people being laid off, and you won't get unemployment. This is because RIFs are COST to the company. Not saying this to garner sympathy for Sears, but because getting fired for cause HELPS Sears. It reduces their FTE overhead while reducing their layoff costs.

@-sbo - WE don't pay for YOUR unemployment. YOU pay for YOUR unemployment, which is why Unemployment is an entitlement - because you are entitled to the money you paid into it (same with Social Security and Medicare - all of which you have paid into with your Federal and State Withholdings). Companies also pay into unemployment, and get hit with increased costs if they let go too many people, or too often.

Please do. That way the rest of us don’t have to pay for your unemployment when you are fired for cause.
