If you are a disingenuous self serving manager, come join the talent management turfers club. All new managers get assigned a special interest group in the company designed to make employees feel valued. It’s part of the leadership development program to feign interest in people’s well being and professional development, get lots of press, and add something to your resume to make you look important and busy. Don’t worry, there isn’t much responsibility. Maybe an opportunity to hone your skills as a con artist. Mostly, it’s just glory and easy money.
