Laid off in June 2017, filed for unemployment, which ended in December 2017. A week after the bankruptcy was announced I get a notice from unemployment saying I got 2 weeks of UI while I was still working at Sears and owed them the money.
Turns out Sears told them my last work day by using the date they cut my final paycheck and not the actual day I was let go. I faxed my severance documents to UI showing the day I was laid off...not the day I received my last paycheck.
Over a year later and the incompetence still somehow finds you.
