Severance is gone dude!
So severance really is a joke? Im so confused because of how wishy washy everything and everyone is! God inwish they could just come out and say hey! Your screwed!
Our Sears store closed recently before bankruptcy. When bankruptcy was declared our severance stopped also. I only got 4 out of 8 checks. Your store manager is lying because he doesn't want anyone to quit. You may be okay on unemployment except that other retailers are hiring for the holidays and you will be expected to accept a job which may kill your unemployment. Bottom line, your store manager is lying.

Our store was announced last week, and the fls manager keeps saying that at least we still get our severance and we are golden on unemployment?? I personally think they are trying to just keep us there to close.....but on the other hand they also said that we shouldn't worry about severance because it was one of the first approvals by the bankruptcy court? Can someone help maybe clear the fog on this?
