Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

next steps at TMG?

Hi folks, with the news that TMG will start to outsource some of its manufacturing to TSMC, what steps can I take to potentially prepare for the worst (next round of layoffs)? can I reach out to HR? talk to a manager? I don't even know what else I could possibly do as a job. Reading about the recent developments have been heartbreaking to say the least. I'm at the bottom of the corporate barrel, working as one of their leading techs. God Bless

You see the handwriting on the wall and staying longer is just praying for a miracle. Unless you have a bonus or stock grant on the near horizon, it's time to move now. Don't be the last one looking for a seat on the lifeboat when the ship is going down. Said another way, interview now and move rather than wait to be there with hundreds of other TMG people. There aren't that many places to go with your skills, and be prepared to change cities, states or countries.

Sorry it's the harsh reality.

Intel needs to spin it out like AMD did with GF and fast. Lagging fabs are mill stones on the company's neck once this round of good luck ends.

First of all you should stop taking seriously "news" here - most of them are fake.

But of course, have CV ready just in case, and invest in learning and new skills.

Get out of debt and fill in the skill gaps on your resume. HR and your manager are powerless to help

Skill up and get yourblifrboat ready.

TMG in total turmoil and more layoffs will come as they need to drop cost and labor is the easiest to cut, chop chop

Nothing you listed will help, doing anything listed will likely harm you. Keep your skills up to date and have your resume and linkedin profile brushed up - be ready to move. Sorry- thats the reality
