Thread regarding Sears layoffs

7 mile and middlebelt (mi) sears on safe lift

I’m sure this store isn’t doing any better than other sears stores but it DOES sit on a prime piece of real estate right on the corner

The outside of the building is just like it was in the 70’s except back then there was a mall attached that has since gone away and now very close to sears in the back is Walmart and Kohls

How is this sears going to compete against these two?

Walmart might want to buy it at auction just to get that awkward eyesore out of their front yard.

IDK that real estate in Livonia is all that attractive...hasn't that old Farmer Jack sat empty for a decade?

"It doesnt need to compete, it is about the real estate. Eddie is just biding his time until he can buy it and make it a Seritage property to redevelop. Right now the store just needs to make enough to pay the workers and pay the taxes."

It's not.

It’s a prime piece of real estate too!!

I remember back in the day the parking lot was full out to the road now at any given time maybe 30-40 cars

It’s only a matter of time before someone buys the real estate.
