Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Management ego, deceitfulness, fraudulent bookkeeping, over leveraging, bad acquisitions, bad loans...

What a shame a beautiful prosperous American company in shambles.

Management ego, deceitfulness, fraudulent bookkeeping, over leveraging, bad acquisitions, bad loans (GE Capital), open end insurance mostly under the "Crooked Jack's'' tenure only to be continued by handpicked Jeff Imelt. Now, who pays for the ongoing CEO, managers risk and errors over the course of 36 years? THE WORKERS. Is it fair? HELL NO!

The biggest CROOK in modern industrial times Jack Welch was on the cover of Bloomberg as "CEO of the Century". Only to be found out as the "Book Cooker of the Century." He should be sharing a cell with Bernie Madoff.

GE paid billions to competitors? Why? Was it in a news article or something?

In fact the moment JF found this one out, a battle was inevitable.

JF knew, but it was too late for him. That is why he must go.

Literally, to competitors.

To competitors. Read through 2015, 2016, and 2017 annual reports. Compare the difference in reports.

So A, B and C are mutually beneficial to each other. I got that before. Now you say the company is paying billions but to who, the suppliers? Before you said the suppliers were the hosts. Are the suppliers hosts or not?

Mutually beneficial for A, B, and C while company pays billion dollars. And the BUs under A, B, and C also pay. Cash flow never lies.

But that's mutually beneficial. You said parasitic. Parasites don't benefit their hosts.

A supports B, B supports C, C sends some favor back to A. Hard to dig this kind of "conflict of interests" issue out.

So symbiotic parasites are parasites that don't like to get their hands dirty?

I kill one for you, you kill one for me. Then we both have something to eat and do not have to make our hands dirty.

Symbiotes are mutually supporting organisms. Parasites do harm to their hosts. So what is a symbiotic parasite?

"Take advantage of situation", this sounds so familiar. Who said this before? "Chaos is a ladder."

Quite simple. If you create something of value, then you are a host. Otherwise you are a parasite. I'm talking in aggregate here. There are exceptions when people take advantage of situation instead of playing their position (sports analogy)

No, no. Suppliers are hosts too. Don't forget the suppliers.

That makes no sense. You think workers are the hosts? More so than management? You think management are parasites? More so than the workers? Karl, is that you?

Workers, shareholders, suppliers and customers are the hosts. Management is the symbiotic parasite. The hosts need someone to organize the corporation and keep things running. When hosts are benefiting, the cost of management seems like a good deal. When things are shrinking, management needs to shrink too. But since management makes the rules, they will cut parts off hosts before shrinking their own ranks.

Hosts resent the management till carnage stops for all. Now the pitchforks are out for management

New management is not going to be the droids you are looking for. Value creation and collecting profits is where the problem lies. Power turbines and services are valued less by the customers than what internal view dictated. Competition offered better value. Hence the losses of revenue and earnings.

Use the crisis to create new value equation and start new industries like GE of the past 130 years. Years of easy money has made the company complacent. Don’t let a crisis go to waste.

THE WORKERS? The workers have been collecting paychecks week in and week out. Easy money with no thought required.

The shareholders on the other hand have been eviscerated.

Clueless management at GE making poor decisions. Management ego, deceitfulness, fraudulent bookkeeping, over leveraging, bad acquisitions, and bad loans are all correct.

First thing that needs to happen is a 45% reduction in all Sr. E band pay and a 30% reduction in all E ban pay.

This is a honest question, why do you think that "He should be sharing a cell with Bernie Madoff."
