Disconnects in error

How many freaking customers do we need to take out of service before they realize there is god damn huge issue ! My thought for the day !

"The Access Implementation team fudges records"

Whichever company picks up the ashes after the company fire sale will find the records a nightmare, and will probably never be able to correctly match circuits with customers. Had the properly trained people been in the management jobs to ensure only qualified people work in that department, then there wouldn't be nearly as many issues, though there would still be some. The WE blue-light special 'acquisitions' that were made to enhance the company profits have caused who knows how much money to be lost from out of date records.

But don't worry, TT says things are doing better, and you sure better believe him! LOL!

The Access Implementation team fudges records and notes on these grooms in order to complete their orders and it ends up costing the company more to pay for an expedite to return the customer and network ds3 back into service. The team is full of id--t rejects from the ERC who couldn’t handle the daily workload. We had to tell customers on a daily basis they would have to wait 1-2 weeks for their service to be reconnected due to an order we implemented! I’ve seen multiple customers Disconnect all their services with windstream due to these DiEs.

Is absolutely correct on that. This hack and slash, cut and run, controled burn team is mostly dealing with leased TDM circuits that make up many of the rotting corpses of belly up clecs we now have. The problem is they do have a mandate to verify network and customer impact. To accomplish this they need to work with network engineering. Well there is the problem, there is no network engineering team responsible for those junk time bomb networks. They have either been laid off somewhere down the line (synergy) or they hide behind a revenue generating project or task. 1 million does not hold a candle to the true cost savings if they would just reengineer these clec networks. I would bet 5-6million /year in savings maybe even 10... And those low margins you keep reporting for Enterprise customers would start to rise, wouldn't that give the boys on wall St a nice chubby one? Eh but what do I know place is boned.

Unfortunately that entire process is for saving money. that group is tasked with finding unused or old obsolete circuits that we're still leasing from the local carriers. they are supposed to confirm with the owning customer they are no longer in use. But since Windstream's records are terrible, they ask the carrier to disco it to save us that money. And they may not be trying hard enough to prove out the circuit before killing it.

That department has already save the company over $1M. so upper management is will to accept the 1% of errored disco's.

Yeah, many times they have disconnected 911 circuits suddenly, and after sending a technician out to check the hardware, it was 'discovered' that somebody in translations group 'accidentally' removed that information.

I know the FCC is drooling at the mouth now with WE outsourcing more and more services overseas, more 911 circuit mistakes like these, and WE still has to pay the hefty FCC fines....$$$ Wouldn't this be a 'national security issue' if the people doing the 911 translations are overseas and flub up something that causes an outage? The new congress would love to investigate!

It is a good thing none of the executives/VP's have their lines still on WE - they would be out of service for days....or maybe they don't know until something suddenly 'breaks'....

I've been wondering the same. Last two years there have been a ton of dispatches to reconnect a disconnected circuit.

I feel your frustration. We disconnected our 911 PSAP center not once, no not twice, but three times!!!
