No surprise about the Wyomissing store either, except why it wasn't closed earlier. Still had part of the second floor open with home and childrens, but they had moved all appliances downstairs. Very rarely a soul in there.

Colonial Park in Harrisburg can't be much further behind.

It's not only Sears, these smaller malls with 3 anchors that had both a Sears and Bon-Ton are doomed unless major redevelopment takes place. I'd expect to see both Berkshire and Colonial Park on a not so distant edition of 'Dead Malls' on youtube.

I noticed about 6 of the new 40 stores announced for closing were on the "restricted" or "safe list"

Not surprised seeing Sears #1484 Wyomissing, PA closing. Started a thread on here 6 months ago regarding that store downsizing, and then shortly afterwards closing off the entire 2nd level. The warning signs were there...

Sears Berkshire Mall #1484 Wyomissing, PA (not the MA mall with same name) has been downsizing and emptying out its 2nd floor in recent months. Was just there yesterday and surprised to see the entire 2nd floor closed off. Store is leased; opened Feb-1970.

Berkshire Mall (Wyomissing, PA) has two other anchors: Bon-Ton that's closing down and a local Boscov's Dept Store, which still seems ok, but less busy than in years past.

When a Sears closes off an entire level, what's the general time-line for store being closed? I get the feeling Sears Berkshire Mall #1484 is slated to be closed very soon."

I talked with a few employees back then, and they seemed overly optimistic about the future of the store. On the bright side, there's still time for employees there to find other work during the holiday season - many stores are still hiring.
