DXC short term disability (USA)

Do you know details? Is this hard to get and what are the consequences if I go this route. Honestly, mine is stress related and I just cannot handle the office any more - really need a break, I am exhausted (we worked 19 weekends this year)

I am guessing it is a US salaried person. The whole IT 'exempt' work not getting OT is a scam that the industry, (especially CSC) has perfected leveraging as a cost savings. Why hire/train competent non-exempt to do weekend deploys and support when you can have a 20 yr veteran working for 0$ ??? Before I quit I had worked 90% of the weekends in my last year. We were always on weekend on-call and assigned deploys. The people who should have been doing those tasks were completely incompetent. CSC was very smart about the amount of non-exempt vs. exempt work. The nonexempt work was saved for free labor weekends while the weekdays tipped the scale to primary duties be exempt work. They also told people to only record 40 hours in time tracking.

Can you give us any details as to the nature of the account or work? Why have 19 weekends been needed in addition to the standard work week? Are the leaders in your area putting in this much time? Are they as stressed out? Is this an account startup or something? Are you hourly or salaried?

Watch out with Short Term Disability. It is optional, and cheap so most get it. You need to read the fine print, since when you use the insurance, you cant use your sick days. The company loves it because they dont have to pay you, the insurance does. It is really hard to find you have cancer and cant use your 100+ days of accumulated sick days and you MAY be responsible for paying full freight for your health insurance. Go online in the benefits and compensation page and it will direct you to the current policy. PLEASE READ IT.

Get back to work you slacker. You’re not stressed out until we say so. Sarcasm off. Seriously, do not file for disability; just stop going in. The fools will not even notice. Worked for me for five weeks.

I've heard that people here in the USA who have taken the Short Term Disability had money taken out of their paycheck for the "benefit". Just be careful, you might be more stressed out than you already are!
