Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Welcome to the new way of working.

New way of working (or not working)

Well we are moving forward with the new way of not working. Every decision needs funneled 2 layers up for president 's approval. Need to order parts submit an exemption and wait months while upper management delays approval long enough you lost the business and no longer need the part.

Need to hire an employee for new business that will generate revenue? Ignore the brand new people management system where everything HR is handled. You have to go. Ack to Quest to enter an exemption so your president can once again ignore it until you lose the contract from being understaffed.

Next we are implementing an exemption process for bathroom passes. No one can take a Sh1+ without an approved exemption.

Should squeeze a few more minutes out of employee utilization since you'll have to $hit at home from now on If you wait on approval you'll sh--e yourself before it happens.

Schlumberger has become a lethargic lumbering giant that gets less reactive to our clients and the marketplace with each self inflicted wound we give ourself as upper management struggles to show their involvement by strangling the businesses underneath them.

Afterwards they sit around patting each other on the back celebrating their Worthless KPO's that strangled revenue and growth. All the time wondering how new independant companies continue to surpass them on revenue growth and margins.

Welcome to the new way of working.

Transformation is a joke. Business model looks like a bobble head waiting to fall on its face. Can't understand why we are cutting from the bottom. New contracted employees who haven't even had a chance to prove their worth are being laid off. Seasoned employees having to struggle twice as hard for the same or less pay with every job being a potential catastrophic due to worn, unmaintained equipment and overworked employees. Company won't grow if there is no new talent starting from the bottom.

With those office guys creating more and more automation, HSE will be able to downsize. It is hard enough to get a field guy to pass the initial d--g test, much less keep him form hurting himself. If HSE took a random d--g test instead of the mandatory test after a recordable incident it would make for a safer work place.

Good post, we live by exemptions now, some people think they have power the longer the sit on them or do not know what they are approving and to scared to reject.

Made up job title for "lead or coordinator" this and that ..... but basically doing the same c-ap as yesterday,

Sales & Marketing then hide behind SQ instead of being strong enough to simply ask for more money from the clients.

You whine about this when a dude got s---ed into a machine and management is probably looking for a way to fire him while he is struggling to live? You office f---s need some god damn perspective instead of crying about your f--got a-- KPO

We have been “ordered” to appoint the first transgender VP in corporate HQ to comply with the new gender diversity policy. The politically correct lunatics have taken over the SLB asylum
