Or will Swan just keep this position indefinitely? We haven't seen any movement on the CEO search front for a while, so I'm honestly starting to wonder if that's a possibility.

@1lyo I think you misunderstand. When I said ‘nobody is better than BK’ I meant literally having no CEO is better than having BK. Sorry for not being clear, it never occurred to me it would read the other way
: @Vn7QD9Y-1tyd never spent time physically around BK. I had the pleasure at lunch time at RNB. BK was at Intel for 35 years. At his 25 year mark, they had the opportunity to walk him out after f--k a process transfer between a working FAB and new FAB at the same site he was trying to bring on-line. Took credit for other more talented engineers. Reverse merger, Intel India and Intel China become subsidiaries of Intel US. Gives Intel US the ability to spin East Indian H1bs to working for Intel India. Which can be spun-off from Intel US at any time. Co-Ceo's( 1, Development, engineering, design, manufacturing, logistics) and the other is HR, It,Marketing, Corporate Development, Venture Capital).
Nobody is better than BK
So far so good. It could be a lot worse with Andy's next choice. So please don't make a decision, please.
Who is "we"? You don't work for Intel, troll.
C'mon, folks. No interim CEO is going to be allowed to make any big decisions - he is the band-aid while the BOD conducts the search.
I'm willing to bet that the new CEO announcement comes at or before the 3Q18 earnings report. If they don't have a CEO by then, Wall Street will annihilate them. Assuming they announce the CEO, then that person has ~2 quarters of leeway to make some major moves before the 10nm depreciation and rising competition start visibly eating at margins.
That's my theory, anyway.
Business as usual with Bob, spin control about the shortages and hit the revenue target while managing costs, but you think Bobby or AM have any clue to how to fix the FUBAR?
When is the next great ACT?
You had better hope for a new, outside visionary for CEO. Swan is not cutting it as the interim. He has no capability of any decision making. He just manages cash flow which is something a junior accountant can do. He hides under his desk trying to avoid any slings and arrows, hoping that somebody takes that position. You'll never see this guy making any kind of revolutionary decision, except for maybe layoffs.
