Confirmed from executive. Major downsizing and consolidation in systems. They are still committed to the vertical business though so it is claimed. Just needs to be more lean. But yes, DH outsource model means Seagate won't be a major innovative leader in systems. Just an also ran.
I can corroborate this. Got unofficial confirms from site HRs in LCO - EDS is on its last legs now and Core has lost patience with their shenanigans. DH really pulled out a rotten rabbit outta it's a** and mgmt ain't listening any more, I tell ya.
Human assets are over-rated anyway. Less humans, more automation. That's what is needed to make America great again.
