Layoffs Immediately after October 1st 2018

Wouldn't "immediately after Oct 1" mean Oct 2/3?

Is it perhaps hiding in plain sight?!?

Why would anyone hold a company wide townhall, only to layoff a huge chunk of them shortly after?

But again, given the general level of inefficiency that's exactly what they might do.

Epitomy of look after myself. Walks into locations and sings New York New York tells them what a great job they are doing but is already planning to close office. This clown only thinks efficiency is cutting heads to meet budgets rather than tech and innovation. Look after myself first. Politics first shareholders last is his motto.

Tom Frossell set up a call for all people managers that report to him.

He said notifications start on the 8th October and that he is relying on us (people managers) to do the dirty work of culling the numbers.

He also made clear that entire sites are at risk of being shut down and that some of the people on the call were also likely to be given their marching orders.

I've been told that for the UK the layoffs will be done on the 15th and 16th of October.

I checked the meeting booking system. A room has been booked by HR in DTC on the afternoon of the 15th and all day on the 16th on the 6th floor which would assume it's going to be Refinitiv staff as this is a TR floor. And the same person has booked 4 meeting rooms in SC for the corresponding times. Obviously I have no idea what ther are being used for.

Well in today's meeting it is said we'll know more on 10/2. My guess is we'll know scope and size of cut by then, then actual notices happening a week after. From this morning it looks like management would at most risk (flatten structure, reduce hierarchy).
