So, Enbridge thinks that paying its employees is equivalent to providing a social service, and thinks it can justify the degradation of employees’ compensation because it is simply not a “social service organization.”
Of all the arrogant things I’ve heard come out of this company’s mouthpieces, that is one of the worst.
That explains why Enbridge can so easily lay off local employees and contract out to overseas sweatshops.
It also explains why no one trusts Enbridge with the Great Lakes. Protecting water isn’t a social service either, so Enbridge won’t do it.
